The Lapacho tree is an evergreen with yellow, white, pink and violet-colored flowers; the last one is the one which shows the most curative function, which belongs to the Bignonia family.  Over 100 Lapacho species are known, but only that of the violet colored flower has curative effects.  Highly expert harvesters are needed to collect this tree´s  inner part, the xylem and the phloem (a major problem encountered in order to obtain a high quality Lapacho inner bark is to find and keep these experts).  The curative part is only these minuscule vascular bundles; the suggested use of exterior bark (dead matter), branches and leaves, is a fraud.
